MAI Certified GET CERTIFIED


LEVEL I TC4HB INSTRUCTOR

Certification is valid for two years from completion. After two years, an instructor must re-certify with the Update Course.

Certification is offered at MAI locations, seminars in metropolitan locations, and as a distance learning program (coming).

Pre-Requistes:

To become a certified TC4HB Instructor and achieve the Level I certification in the MAI process you must first:
  - Have a minimum of two years practicing Tai Chi.
  - Demonstrate proficiency by performing a Tai Chi form of your choice.
  - Interview with a Level III MAI Head Instructor

Instructor Training
Course:

The course requires 15-20 hours to complete.

 -- 5+ hours are dedicated to the principles of adult education, basics of preparing a lesson plan/course outline, the structure of the Tai Chi 4 Health & Balance program and learning the purpose of the various exercise as they relate to improving health and balance.

 -- 10+ hours will be spent learning the 16 different lesson plans and exercises as well as seeing the program, exercises and adult education principles put into practice.

 -- Demonstrate your ability by performing a Lesson Plan live, on video recording, or video conferencing.

 -- Interview with a Level III MAI Head Instructor where you will be asked to demonstrate your understanding of the material and process.

 -- Sign a pledge stating that you will teach the TC4HB curriculum as designed and abide by the Martial Artists Moral Code. Violation of the pledge will result in loss of certification.


GET TC4HB CERTIFIED: MAI Locations Seminar Distance Learning


LEVEL II TC4HB/TC4FORMS INSTRUCTOR

This certification does not expire. Renewal information and updates will be issued as created.

This certification is currently only offered at MAI central locations.

Pre-Requistes

To become a certified TC4HB/TC4Forms Instructor and achieve the Level II certification in the MAI process you must first:
 -- Be certified as a Level I TC4HB Instructor
 -- Been practicing Tai Chi for over 3 years

Requirements

 -- Demonstrate a proficiency in the MAI curriculum

 -- Be a Student Teacher/Group leader for one year

 -- Lead classes while observed by a Level III MAI Head Instructor

 -- Complete an Interview with a Level III MAI Head Instructor

 -- Sign a pledge stating that you will teach the MAI curriculum as designed and abide by the Martial Artists Moral Code. Violation of the pledge will result in loss of certification.



LEVEL III MAI HEAD INSTRUCTOR

This certification is only available to Level II TC4HB/Tc4Forms Instructors who have had their own class(es) for two years, taken the Level I certification course two times and have demonstrated an ability to train the trainer.

To become a Level III MAI Head Instructor you must be nominated and approved by the active Level II and Level III instructors in your area.
