MARTIAL ARTS MOVIES

Movie Rating Comments
Ong Bak 1
Ong Bak 2
Ong Bak 3
****
Tremendous martial arts. Ong Bak 1 has a nice scene showing some of the postures/movements of Mauy Thai. Ong Bak 3 has a great underwater scene that is very "Tai Chi".

Shaolin Temple
****

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
****
Good Martial Arts. A little heavy on the WireFu. Also a good movie with a real script and acting and everything.

Unleashed
****
Harsh Martial Arts. Rough story. Jet Li as an enslaved, mentally undeveloped attack dog. Worth the watch.

Shaolin Temple 3:
North Vs South
****

Fist of Legend
****

Iron Monkey
****
Featuring Donnie Yen

Drunken Tai Chi
****

The Matrix
****

Tai Chi Zero
***
A strange combination of steam punk and martial arts. Some of the martial arts are very good with clear examples of Chen-style Tai Chi. Some of the martial arts are clearly for movies - wirefu.

Kids From Shaolin
***

Romeo Must Die
***

Black Mask
***

The Matrix: Reloaded
***
BTW - Even if you could download Kung Fu straight into your mellon, your body will still need to pratice and condition before you could do it.

Once Upon a Time in China 2
**
Featuring Donnie Yen

The One
**
Good Jet Li fights with Bagua; Bad Jet Li fights with Xingyi

Shanghai Knights
**
Donnie Yen as the Chinese Bad Guy. Watch the DVD extras for the extended and much better final fight scene between Donnie and Jackie.

Revenge of the Tai Chi Master
*
Introduction has 2 high level Chen style taiji masters

Road House
*
Patrick Swayze doing chest flexing tai chi. Movie has nudity.

The Recruit
*
Trainees doing taiji. Not much taiji but a decent movie.

Knock Around Guys
*
Very short, very bad taiji but funny dialogue about it.

Die Hard 2
*
Bad guy does taiji briefly.
